This was kind of boring. We were expecting a nut farm or something. This is really just a store. There is a factory there that you can see through glass, but it doesn't operate on the weekends. There is a tv in a back corner that plays a video about how they're made. There are samples out to taste and... More

Want to visit a real down home company that cares for people, that's not a tourist trap, offers lots of free tasty samples of their products, the Hamakua Macadamia Nut Company is the place to go. It is a bit off the beaten path, but it's modern, has a great ambiance and totally appeals to the consumer. Their prices on... More

If you are up in the area a fun stop. They don't have a tour but you can watch a movie of the process and see the factory in action through the glass in the shop. You can crack your own macadamia nut at the nut cracker. Lots of flavors to try and buy. Stop if you are in the... More

Who knew that so many food items could be made from Macadamia nuts? At the "Nut House", I saw and tasted 18 different mac nut variations, from "Chili Peppah" to Spam flavored (I know - but still a tasty nut!). Brittle candy, pancake mix, cooking and salad oils, Kona coffee - the shop has it all and more, and you... More

Tell me how many times your going to goto a macadamia nut factory in your life? Right - once - and you should go now. I will admit - the trip to the Hamakua was a little 'authentic' - and a bit off the beaten path (safe of course) - just off the beaten path. Anyways - it was very... More

We visited on a Saturday, so unfortantely the factory portion wasn't in operation. They had some signage and videos, though, to help explain the process. Lots of samples. The staff was not at all friendly or helpful, though. We asked for helped locating one of the nut varieties to purchase, and the girl made it seem we were stupid and... More

Amazing to see and taste all the different mac nuts plus my favorite Rosalie ice cream cones. I think I counted about 25 different ways they presented the Mac nuts and of course you can buy to take home with you after your visit

We did not do the tour because the factory was closed on the day we visited. There is a video to watch but I would have preferred to see the processing in action. There are lots of tasty samples to try and of course we stocked up.

We just happened on this out of the way gem...friends recommended we stop by this place, and what a nice surprise.. Lots of wonderful samples and interesting observation windows to watch the whole process, including Macadamia nut brittle poured right onto a marble slab to cool... Samples of everything, including really good coffee...

The factory and shop are pristine. All around are sample bowls of the many different flavours of the nuts. My favourites and the ones I purchased were Rum butter, Wasabi and also coffee flavoured. You can look through a glass partition to the operation of processing the nuts. The staff are charming.
