This is one of the most beautiful drives ever....Golden Aspens, meandering rivers and enough wildlife for everyone.

This route to Estes Park from I-70 or Idaho Springs is magnificent! And it is better traveled south-to-north as the Rockies serve as a backdrop most of the way there. While the twists and turns make it tempting to "exercise" the car or motorcycle, be sure to take in all the scenery. You won't regret it!

We travel this route a lot from our home in Denver up to Estes Park. It's a bit longer than going through Lyons but much prettier and we like to stop off along the way at favorite places.

Spectacular views. Highly recommend this drive. Many photo opportunities along the way. Stop and hike or picnic or just drive. We left from Estes Park stopped in Nederland and then gambling and buffet dinner in Central City.

Great drive with beautiful fall weather for a November. Most of the colorful leaves were gone but the fantastic views and and the nice road made the trip worthwhile. Also a few places to stop along the way to hike or picnic.

I live in Denver and travel this route every chance I get. The scenery is amazing. Be aware this may not be your quickest route due to occasional construction and locals, in no hurry to get anywhere. Along the route you'll pass through Black Hawk/Central City which is a Casino stop. Golden Gate Canyon State Park is also just a... More

We took the peak to peak from Denver airport to Estes Park and back again through Boulder. Scenery was breathtaking, very cool canyons, rock formations, rivers, foliage. Well worth the time

We drove this route from Rocky Mountains National Park at Estes Park to I-70 (north to south). It was a curvy mountain road as expected, but the views were somewhat disappointing because most of the time we could only see trees. And when there were nice views, there were no pull-offs or overlooks to stop and take a photo. Maybe... More

We drove this route late September during a 80 degree day when the leaves were in peak colors and the sites were beautiful. Highly recommend over a boring highway drive if time allows.
