Lots and lots of forests and even some wetlands and some serene meadows will have you feeling at peace. It's such a quiet and peaceful place!! We saw lots of little animals and even a bald eagle soaring through the sky. This would be the percy place to do some camping -- although it's worth noting we were there for... More

The elevation gain is about 1000 feet in just two miles, so it is a fairly steep hike with some rock scrambling at the end. But the views are great...360 from the top, and almost the much just below the rock scrambling part. There are also a couple of fine lookouts along the way.

This is an off-the-beaten path hike that is a good option when the national park is busy. We hiked to Kruger Rock on a Sunday and saw very few other hikers. Be forewarned, the hike is rather steep. The views of the Estes Valley and surrounding mountains are terrific - especially on a clear day.

Took this hike with my 2 boys, 18 and 15. We are not avid hikers but this was and easy well marked trail. Not a lot of people on this hike, we were wondering if it would turn out to be good and it was so much better then hoped for. Once at the top we climbed the rocks and... More

We did this with an 8 year old 2 greyhounds and a whippet. It was a little tough for the two greyhounds but everyone else enjoyed it and it was a good physical activity with great views up top.

A very well maintained trail that can be enjoyed even if you do not do the last scramble up to the top. There are fine views along the way, intermittent shade all along the trail, good spots to have a picnic lunch with a view.

The hike to the top of Kruger Rock is 2 miles and 900 feet elevation gain, at the top, you can climb up the crack in the rocks to get to the very top. The views are worth the effort.

This beautiful hike begins in Hermit Park, a Larimer County Open Space fee area. Take U.S. Hwy 36 south of Estes Park two or three miles to the well-marked entrance. Follow the road to the green-roofed pavilion. Parking is on one side of the pavilion and the Kruger Rock trailhead on the other. This is an easy to moderate hike... More

This is an easily accessible hike just outside of RMNP; and, as one of the Park Rangers we met said - it's one of the best hikes around (and we agree). It's listed as moderate as it will climb approximately just under 1,000 feet in just over 2 miles. I would rate it a very high EASY to a low... More
