Even though it was closed for the season, it was well worth the visit. The road is plowed almost to the lighthouse leaving just a short walk to the shore. The cliffs are fantastic as the surf pounds in on them. Great location for photos.

Swing by to see the easternmost point in the United States. Easy to get to, easy parking, nice little park area to hike some very easy trails. Well maintained and nice visitors station.

Well worth coming at dawn to view the sunrise over the ocean, lighthouse in foreground. Nice walking trails along the ocean cliffs.

This lighthouse is a bit of a drive but well worth the visit. It's a perfect picturesque Maine lighthouse. The gift shop is small but adequate. The grounds are immaculate. The parking lot is dirt but fine. And there is the added surprise; your first view of the light from the parking lot gravel drive is spectacular. Worth the drive... More

Great lighthouse with a small gift shop and museum. Very helpful and informative people working there. There's also a great gift shop up the road called West Quoddy Gifts (the easternmost gift shop in the USA!) that has a lot of great lighthouse items, clothing, souvenirs, etc. So glad we made it to see this lighthouse.

Why is the easternmost point in the US named West Quoddy Light? Well, because the Quoddy Light up in Canada is even farther east. Never mind that. This one has some great views of the lower end of the Bay of Fundy.

We woke up at 5am to see the sunrise, went to breakfast, then went back and hiked the trails. This is honestly top 3 of the most amazing places I have been on Earth. Take the time to look, see and breath!

Stopped at the lighthouse while hiking at Quoddy Head State Park. Historically, it's well preserved and the staff are friendly and eager to share their knowledge. Fun to visit but don't take a trip out there just for the lighthouse. Go and spend a day walking through the woods, enjoying the views, and plan a picnic lunch.

America, we have the first sunrise of the New Year. People drive in from several states to be part of the gathering every January 1. This morning (7:05am) was no different: There were license plates in the parking lot from Massachusetts, New York, North Carolina, Georgia, Florida. Why not? You'll be able to tell your kids one day that you... More
