Took the whole family (teenage kids and the Mrs) and this place is gorgeous. Flower gardens, fountains, gazebos, lawns, greenhouses. Lots of gorgeous nature to stroll through and talk to the kids about. Reviewers noted the lack of signage, which does make for nice wandering around. maps are distributed for free, but aren't all that great. Go with lots of... More

We visit the beautiful arboratum every season. During fall, the dalia garden is in full bloom and some of the roses along the rose path are still as beautiful as they were in the summer. Every path will lead you to another amazement of the nature's beauty. The green houses are also greatly maintained whenever we visit. The garden is... More

Well visiting my sister on Long Island, we decided to go here. Although they gave us a map in the visitors center, it was confusing. When we actually tried to find her way around, we found the lack of signage frustrating. We couldn't find some of the gardens that were on the map. The thing we enjoyed the most were... More

Bailey's is really a hidden gem. A great place for an easy walk in the woods, and it welcomes your leashed dog. There is an area run by the volunteer group Friends of Wildlife that features some interesting rescues - usually including owls and birds of prey. There is also a lovely home for rent that is great for luncheons,... More

While trying to visit some of the "Gold Coast Mansions," and striking out because we did not have reservations, we came across the Planting Fields Arboretum and the Coe Mansion. We were pleasantly surprised! We had a great tour of the mansion, and spent some time wandering around the grounds, including the "Sensory Garden," the "Dahlia Garden," the "Camellia Greenhouse,"... We had a brief stop here to see the house and gardens and enjoy a glass of wine. A wedding was in process so we did not see all of the house, but had a glass of wine in the outdoor bar/courtyard. Gorgeous grounds and the restoration of the house is awesome. Wish we had more time to spend on... More

Have been going here since I was a kid. Summer and fall months, the whole place is breathtaking. So well maintained and laid of. Great for a date, fun stroll with friends, or even taking the family for the day. Parking is really cheap too
