As a former resident of Tucson, I was excited to share my love of the museum and all its desert critters with my 8 and 10 yr old children. The grounds are very well maintained and the museum offers folks who wouldn't get another chance to walk through the Sonoran desert a chance to do so. However, the museum was... More

Busy, busy....the road to the museum might be the main attraction. With numerous pullouts and photo opportunities, each affords many times to enrich ourselves. The museum is extremely popular. Expect to park far and rub elbows with the crowds. After paying 18.50 with a senior discount, I left early without enjoying all of the incredible exhibits. I'm sure all was... More

We loved the visit here! Plenty to see as we walked around, with indoor exhibits and animals in natural habitat. Our favorite part was the raptor free flight!

A showcase for the amazing plants and animals of the Sonoran Desert. The Raptor Free Flight is terrific, as are all of the docents working around the grounds.

Visited wth family earlier this week. While scheduling resulted in getting there too late for the Raptor show, which is only offered in the winter months, the outside / inside museum is well worth the admission. Besides the beautiful fauna and vistas, many animals and reptiles and fishes found in Arizona, are found in natural habitat. You often must look... More

This was a nice suprise and we wished we had more time instead is squeezing it in at the end of the day. It is more like a zoo than a museum - be prepared to be outside in the desert, and to see animals in confinement. However, it is mostly a well designed zoo with large naturalistic enclosures. Only... Enjoyed strolling the gardens. The kids loved the animals and caves. Had a nice lunch on the patio followed by browsing in the gift shop.

This is our latest visit and enjoyed it very much. The changes over the years make the visit interesting and informative. We will continue to visit it when we are in Tucson and have the time for a visit.
