This historic mission dating back to the 1700s is beautifully maintained and still serves the Tonoho O'odham. The day we were there, the church was closed for a couple hours for a wedding. But by the time we had wandered around the adjacent grounds, soaked up the architectural details and explored the gift store, the ceremony was over and we... More

The church/mission is very attractive and well maintained. The building was begun in 1783, and is defiantly a historic treasure. If you are in Tucson this is a must visit. The exterior and interior of the church are from another time and place. It is different from anything else I have seen in the US. There is a side chapel... More

This is still an active church and also a place of worship. On top of that it's extremely popular for photography especially sunsets or during monsoon season with it's incredibly skies.

The whole experience of seeing the cathedral, the Indian art and works on sale and the peaceful feeling of the full exposure is worth the drive and the visit!

Definitely a worth while stop while in Tucson, not too far of a drive from the airport. Spent around 20 minutes walking around the nice grounds and seeing the interior of this historic building. In the car park they sell fry-bread which is worth trying.

The church is imposing, even though one of the twin towers is unfinished. The interior is highly decorated with paintings and sculpture in what I imagine is traditional Mexican style. I was a little disappointed that there was not more of the original mission still existing. Worth a visit.

We visited on a Sunday morning when there are services and many people had come for the services so that's when tourists take a back seat..and rightly so. We had only a very brief look at the inside of the church but we'd love to go back and check it out more thoroughly. The museum is worth a visit and... More

We drove a bit to get here and when we arrived the main chapel of the mission was being used for a wedding so we didn't get to explore it. This was compounded by the fact that the museum was closed due to the presence of bees (which were everywhere outside as well.) We recommend checking on accessibility before making... More
