I am on vacation from Mass and this popped up as a fun activity to do. Unfortunately my friend and I had arrived after all the guided tours had finished, but we still had a great time walking around and learning so much! There were different trails and so many things to see. There were Docents around and they were... More

We were staying at the Omni resort but like to try local eateries, not just hotel restaurants, and we love gardens, so this was a real find. The restaurant's a great place for breakfast on a nice day -- interesting menu options, good coffee, and tables outside on a lovely patio where you can enjoy views of the surrounding botanical... Although the $10 per person fee can be steep for most families, this is a great spot to bring your relatives from the Midwest and back east. In one relatively small park, you can see and learn about native desert plants, a riparian zone, water harvesting, food plants of native peoples, and even see some endangered vertebrate species (fish and... The park has fees, either 4free (pay for membership), adult $10, senor 62+ $8, children 5--12 $ 3, under 5 free, active military $5, AAA discount 10 percent. There is a store, and restaurant (not vegan friendly), For a winter trip go later in the AM, cold early, and in the... More

I love the outside patio. The butterflies and beautiful surrounding greenery. The service is excellent and the food is great. Price is fair. A beautiful place to visit. Also, while there be sure to go into the greenhouse and gift shops, there are two gift shops.

If you have a couple of hours and want a lovely walk in a botanical garden, Tohono Chul offers a great experience. Throw in the art exhibits and the explanatory materials, and you have a top-notch facility right in the city. Great place for a leisurely brunch. Service is slow, but the staff is friendly, the food is good and the patio is wonderful.

Tohono Chul gardens is a destination by itself - the gardens are beautiful. With added events like Dia de Los Muertos and Holiday Night Lights, the gardens take on so much more.

Situated around an old hacienda, the 49 acre park is a wonderful exhibit of desert plantlife, and much more. A gift shop, art gallery, garden exhibit and indoor reptile exhibit, it is much more than meets the eye. They even have music some evenings, and a restaraunt. VERY nice.

If you're in Tucson and looking for good food, this garden makes a nice visit; it is across from the Whole Foods. I had a delicious soup and sandwich in the lovely bistro. I enjoyed walking through the garden on a sunny winter day. But if you're limited for time, I recommend seeing the Tucson Botanical Garden and then the... More
