Play enke this summer and it was in great shape for the time of the year. Great summer prices and specials. Fun challenging course needing to ride in a cart too long to walk. Green good shape fairways in good shape for a public course under new management company doing much better job running the property. Great breakfast and lunch... More

We played this course for the first time. It is a beautiful course with nice desert and mountain views. It can be a little challenging for beginners but is still playable for beginners. We had 2 beginners in our foursome. Lost a lot of balls but also found a bunch. We accidentally played hole #9 after #2 because of lack... More

This is a older municipally owned course in south Tucson. The course is well maintained considering the generally dry conditions. Fairways are tight and not as well kept as the greens. Tee boxes need some tlc. Don't be in a hurry to play...because it's a tight course, play can be slow. Reasonably priced compared to other offerings in the area.... More

This is more of a links course. The fairways are all dry and hard to hit from, however the greens were in good shape. We played 9 holes with 2 pretty good golfers, but it took a long time as we had to wait on every hole. We did see lots of wild life - road runners, coyotes and prairie... More

Played early January, the fairways and rough were dormant Bermuda. The greens were green. Very tight lies on the fairways. The greens are very undulating, getting on in regulation is no guarantee of two putting. The course layout is what I would call tight. This is not a course that you pull out driver on and pound away. Many of... More

We played 18 holes and were totally impressed with the course, the beauty of the setting, the care given to the greens and the joy of being out on a glorious day in Tucson. We are so fortunate to have this asset in our community. We will back as often as we can and enjoy golf at Fred Enke.

First we went on "golfnow" for info, then found we could book our tee off time through the Tucson City Golf page. This worked well as we only had our cell phone's with us it was easy to do once you made an account, you could start booking cheep tee off times. The course itself was well maintained, when they... Fred Enke is a municipal golf course in southeast Tucson. It is a desert style/ target course. Since the management has been in the hands of OB Sports there has been a huge improvement in the course and the conditions. It is not a easy course. You really need to hit your target off the tee. It's worth the trip... More

great to get the desert experience and usually not too busy. You do have to hit your target or you are going to lose a lot of balls. Have seen Javelinas on the course which is a real treat. The cart paths are in rough shape and will shake your bones. we always have fun at this course though.

I'm a high handicapper, but now that I've been playing this course for a couple of years, I'm coming to appreciate it more and more. There are good reviews of the course online, from the Fred Enke Golf Club, who keep a regular record of handicaps, local tournaments, local golfers, etc. Anyway, if you want to know how to play...
