We drove up in 115F weather. It was delightful to get to the top where it was cooler. There is an observatory at the top, you can book night stargrazing, but it is a tricky road and I did not want to try it in...More

My family is always looking for outdoor activities to keep our active teenaged boys happy so a drive up Mt. Lemmon seemed like just the idea. It was 117 degrees in the valley in Tucson so we were looking to beat the heat, too. It...More

Went up the mountain last Friday to escape the desert heat! Had lunch a the Iron Door at Ski Valley. Highly recommed the Iron Door for lunch. Sit on the deck and enjoy the Hummingbird activity.

I would say from about one hour after sunrise to about one hour before sunset local Tucson time. There is not a toll to travel the scenic route, just a lot of curves and beautiful vistas to look out over.
Does anyone know the names of any of the picnic spots with bathrooms? Can't find my map anywhere.....

Windy Point about 1/2 way up. The are 4 campgrounds all with restrooms. Also lookouts near the top and Marshall Gulch. Probably 10 or more places.
