A very scenic drive that spans several different eco-zones, from desert to pine forest. Lots of great trails to explore, and Summerhaven is fun. There is a great gift shop called The Living Rainbow, fun things at the General Store, and you can ride the...More

There is something magical about Mt Lemmon. It doesn't matter what time of year you visit; in the summer you can come enjoy the cooler temps, in the winter enjoy the snow or perhaps you can go skiing or ride a sled, in the spring...More

The many and varied views are breathtaking at times. You depart the desert area of Tucson, and when you arrive at the top of Mt. Lemmon, you are in Canada. Not really, but along the way up Mt. Lemmon, the environment changes as you climb...More

It was fun scaring my husband on this drive. Lots of tight turns and drop offs. No worries though, with all the pull off area's, you can get great pictures and allow your significant other time to relax.

Having roasted in the Tucson temperatures the day before, we opted for a trip to Mount Lemmon to enjoy "30 degrees less". The drive up was magnificent with saguaros, ocotillos, cholla, and other cacti giving way to deciduous trees and pine trees as we ascended....More

This drive was brought to our attention from the chef at the Lodge on the Desert. Others on staff chimed in to encourage us to experience this beautiful drive! Well worth the time!

It was very enjoyable to drive along the Mt. Lemmon Scenic Byway. If you are not in a hurry, take the time to slow your life down and soak up nature in real time.

I would say from about one hour after sunrise to about one hour before sunset local Tucson time. There is not a toll to travel the scenic route, just a lot of curves and beautiful vistas to look out over.
