A short rocky hike, We went in dry season, but it was a beautiful rocky hike down to the river banks. You can walk the river bank which is an awesome view, great photos, it’s 1.8 miles in out out .

For the normal hiker BEWARE. The allure of water in the desert is enticing but extremely dangerous to get to. Take the lower trail. It is safer, but unless you have plenty of water and a couple of hours to spare, in good shape, have...More

I hiked this in march. The weather was perfect and the water was flowing hard. There was so much water that we were able to cliff jump (not from the top) after swimming across the little lake where the waterfall is at. The amount of...More

I found out about these falls after some hikers were rescued during a flash flood in July. It's east of Tucson about 30-45 min (more or less depending on where you stay). After a few days break of monsoon rains, we decided to take the...More

Hiked in April 2017 and the basin was dry as a bone--no waterfalls. Regardless, this is an *excellent* hike among the saguaros and multiple other varieties of cacti, with beautiful desert vistas, clear blue skies, and just enough friendly fellow hikers on a Saturday afternoon...More

This is a gem of a hike. Recommend leaving early and avoiding the afternoon sun. The hike takes you back and forth through a river seven times in and seven times out. I fell 3 times. I dried off quickly. The falls was spectacular and...More

We parked at the second parking lot and took the trail down to the water. Go right and follow the trail down further to see a larger falls. Wear light hiking shoes for grip, as the rocks can be slick.

Follow Reddington Road until it turns into a dirt road. It is a short way before you see the first parking area. We parked at this one. There is a trail-head right across the parking lot. It is a really short hike, maybe half a...More

Tanque Verde Falls was beautiful today. All the recent rain ensured we had water in the wash. We parked at the first parking lot on the left and took the trail down. Its a very quick 15-30 walk to get to the water. This was...More

Make sure you take advantage of all three trails that go down to the water. Great hikes with dogs that get hot at any time of year!
