Tucson’s premier art collection. Seven centuries of art - one museum. Home to the spectacular, 26 surviving panels of the Altarpiece of Ciudad Rodrigo, acknowledged by scholars as the finest 15th century Castilian altarpiece outside of Spain. Dynamic, changing exhibitions, check website. Hours: Tuesday – Friday, 9 am – 5 pm; Saturday & Sunday, 12 - 4 pm. Closed: Mondays and University holidays. Admission: Adults - $5 / children, students with ID, UA faculty and staff – free.

Part of museum was closed for renovation, so felt like I got less than what I paid for. There was one exhibit of famous people who died early in life. A book was available that told you interesting facts about each.

Great variety of artists and types of art. To name a few. There is a Georgia O'Keefe and Jackson Pollock (hopefully, they will be displayed). There is a very impressive marble sculpture called Falling Stars. And a painting of Marilyn Monroe.. It's a great little...More

Go to the U of A website to find out what exhibit is presently there. It's free and it will put you in the heart of U of A. Take time to ride the streetcar and explore the area's restaurants, etc.

Though small, the displays were informative, diverse and well worth contemplating. The "Verboten" exhibit was most interesting, since it represents the strength and freedom of expression artists still practice today. Upstairs The Samuel H. This is a relatively small museum, but had wonderful representation of famous artists. It was very enjoyable and could be seen in an hour or two.
