CinemaSalem offers both first run and art house films in a non-cineplex setting. As a result, the lines tend to be short. The theaters themselves are fairly utilitarian, although the screens are large and the concessions are good.

This is a small cinema complex with four theaters plus a small screening room. Cinema Salem receives an excellent selection of movies. Concessions are good, and service is quick and friendly.

My husband and I went in to see the short film "1642". It advertised that a horrifying tale would be told and portrayed the film as haunting. It was narrated by a young woman who spoke with a pleasant voice, while wearing Puritan clothing. Though...More

Independent movie theater, what's nice is they will have unusual or 'off the beaten path' films like The Cabot does in Beverly. Often times they will have movies that are most popular, but are otherwise limited in selection. It's nice that it's in the India...More

This movie theater shows major films, but rarely has the large crowds and delays of the major movie theater complexes. An added plus is the tiny screening room, which offers art house selections.

Are you going to Salem to get into the spirit of Halloween? I recommend this show 100%. The show includes amazing magic that will entertain and fool everyone, even if you think you know how magic tricks work. Other parts are just shocking when there...More

I completely agree with Laura's review. There was no magic at all and no psychic abilities either. This show should be cancelled for stealing people's money under the guise of it being a good magic show. If you watch the trailer, it gives a creepy,...More

This is a great privately operated cinema that features many hit movies in a relaxed old school movie house.

Recently came and saw a movie here, Civil War, with my wife. The theater is great! Nothing fancy, just your simple "dollar" theater if your familiar with the concept of older theaters that dropped their prices to a dollar and showed movies after most multiplex...More

I prefer Cinema Salem to the larger theaters in Danvers and Revere. Cheap, validated parking is available in the attached garage-25 cents per hour-and the selection of movies is pretty good. There are rarely lines at the concession stand, and the popcorn is very good.
