Great museum with variety of exhibits

In addition to the usual exhibits of European art, this museum has good exhibits of pre-Columbian and colonial art as well as a section on Texas culture.

Some exhibit areas are closed due to construction. Other exhibits were interesting including Texas artists. Worth checking out.

Only had time for the Asian collection. Started on the third floor and worked our way down. Excellent commentaries on the pieces. Displays are very well presented.

Went this afternoon and I was able to get in for the senior rate while the people with me had free passes. It was varied but part of the building was under renovation. Once that is done more exhibits will be open. I noticed three Diego Riveras. Nice. And one Bierstadt. Not too far from a nice coffee shop, Rosella's,... More

This is one of those museums that is under appreciated if you love Egyptian or Near Eastern art and archaeology. It has a nice collection, including some items resulting from a Harvard expedition. I highly recommend it.

I don't recommend this art museum. Very few paintings, many historical artifacts. It is housed in old Brewery, but I couldn't find anything about the history of the building. There were a few closed areas. Not worth the $10 price tag. Sunday from 10 to 12 it is free.

The day after Christmas everything was closed in San Antonio and someone at the Museum had the good sense to keep it open AND offer free tickets! Awesome! The museum has a pretty good collection of art from pretty much all the continents and major cultures....

Amazing collection of art spanning the Americas, Europe and beyond for centuries. I found myself immersed in the artist's bios, art/period descriptions and information about the renderings only to be amazed with beauty, expressions and work by the artists themselves. The museum itself is beautiful but it was a bit warm inside...probably due to the cold weather outside.

If you enjoy art, do stop by. The high lights are the Greek and Etruscan art as well as the pre-Colombian artifacts. Quite impressed by this museum. American art is scant but interesting.

This is an outstanding museum. I first encountered it by passing by the museum in a river cruise. It stands high on a bank above the river. It's architecture is very interesting with lots of glass and a very large terrace. They have excellent exhibitions and a good restaurant and gift shop as well.
