We went on a Saturday and it was not crowded at all. Very nice museum with many interesting art pieces. The museum has many photographs, paintings, drawings, statues and some furniture pieces. The museum is not overly large so it will not take all of your day. Just the right amount of walking for us. The museum is actually a... More

Had no idea there was a world class collection of impressionist and post-impressionist art in San Antonio. Plus sculpture, Medieval art (I'm partial to carvings and they have a number of amazing ones) and more. The gallery includes the original McNay mansion and added gallerys. A beautiful setting. Southwestern in design the original mansion is uniquely San Antonian. We only... More

This treasure of a museum has many works of art, a beautiful courtyard and lovely grounds. It is a photographer's dream. A favorite spot in San Antonio to capture bridal portraits.

I love the McNay--especially the original home and patio area, film and art! The newer part is nice and gift shop is nice too--no food opportunities however--no café.

This is an absolute must for art lovers and a hidden gem of San Antonio. It houses work for nearly all of the great painters of the world. The grounds are wonderful and relaxing plus many opportunities for photo ops and wedding pictures. A must see!

The museum is outside the city, a bit far to get to. The house and garden are beautiful. The art collection covers from early modern pieces to contemporary art works. It's very impressive.

I've visited the McNay twice and really like that it is an interesting layout unlike other art museums. It is made up of an old mansion, a theatre arts library with a circular staircase, modern addition with a separate outdoor sculpture garden, and has an inside courtyard. The art collection is not going to threaten those of New York, LA,... More

A beautiful building with amazing art, especially the impressionists. Plan to spend the whole day but take your lunch as there is no place to eat nearby. The courtyard is a gorgeous place to eat.

Just the right size to spend a couple hours wandering about on a pretty property, few types of art from different genres (Picasso/Monet/modern/statuary/photo exhibit). With the grounds and interior courtyard, would have been nice to possibly have a small coffee/muffin stand to enjoy while on site. Worth a stop in next trip to San Antonio.
