I loved the white spires of San Fernando across from Main St. Plaza, and entered the cool Adobe cathedral. On the left entrance is the tomb of three Americans, Davy Crockett, Daniel Boone and Travis, who died at the Alamo. Pope John Paul 2 visited...More

I loved the beautiful interior and stunning sanctuary but mostly the fact that it has been so wonderfully preserved.

A must see is the 24 minute laser show in the evening! It is absolutely beautiful. It tells the story of San Antonio. Check their schedule for the days and times.

The Cathedral was within walking distance of our hotel and was simply awe inspiring. A small café called Poblanos located on the grounds was very good.

I'd encourage anyone who can get there to view this very artistic presentation showing this summer. You can find information on line.

The outdoor light show at San Fernando should not be missed.and it is free. The Cathedral located in downtown San Antonio is beautiful inside and out. It is also the burial sight of some of the hero's of the Alamo.

Lots of history to see. Can stay there a long time just seeing everything. It was not crowded at all when we went. Recommend it to everyone to go and see.

The light shows at the cathedral are Tuesdays , Fridays and Saturdays at 9:30 and 10:00 pm. A posada is something different. It is a parade that takes place during the Christmas holiday period.
