We were so excited to see Sister Act after reading the great reviews for Woodlawn and being big fans of theatre (we both have acted in community theatre productions ourselves). We purchased tickets online - $25 I believe, not terribly expensive but for that price I'm looking forward to a good show. Parking was a challenge but eventually found something... More

Nice night out with the family during our vacation in San Antonio, We saw Pippin. The location is a nice older theater that has as series of productions throughout the year. The surrounding area is not so nice and it is a bit confusing after dark to find parking that is a little over a block away. Given the appearance... More

This venue, dating from mid 1940s, was designed by the architect of our splendid Majestic Theater. Woodlawn's design is quaint, as other have said. The smaller seating area puts audiences close to the stage and makes it possible for performers to co-opt aisles and the "orchestra" into their performances. Last night, for Evita, was my first visit where, arriving almost... More

We are regulars at this theater and...while I like the intimate size, the decor and paint job really needs to be addressed. The shows are always great and the attendants are extremely helpful. While the ambiance is not great, everyone seems happy to be there!

The Woodlawn Theater has a smaller more intimate theater called the Classes Theater. It seats the guests on opposite sides of the stage area. It only seats about one hundred guests. We recently saw a performance of "Born Yesterday." The acting performances were superb. The set completely worked as well. The only negative is that this theater shares the concessions... More

The movies are gone now, but there's still magic in the air. Broadway shows are now playing at this theater.

Nice venue. I would have given it 5 stars of it wasn't for the deceptive ticket price practice. They charge $2 extra per ticket than the listed price for their ticket system. They should just raise the price by $2 instead of hitting someone with the fee at the last minute. I know some will say that this is very... More

It was our first time to the Woodlawn Theater; we went to see West Side Story. While recognizing that it's a local repertory theatre and maybe they have many volunteers to help operate the theatre, we couldn't hear the dialogue at all because the music was so incredibly loud. The disappointing thing was in discussing this with other patrons during... More

Wow, I have seen three shows here, and every time I walk into the venue, the set blows me away. They have some really talented people working for them. The quality of the shows they produce is great as well. There are some wonderful artists living in San Antonio! I have yet to be disappointed. I will say that their... More

Went here to watch Marry Poppings. Very nice little venue. Good value for the cost. Easy parking. Little concession stand with drinks (beer and wine too), candy, and popcorn. Recommend seeing Mary Poppings! Great production! Downside to the theater is very small bathrooms. They need more!
