This museum was next to our hotel. We have a 3 year old who loves fire trucks. Our guide was a retired fireman. He was very knowledgeable but also took us through quickly so we had lots of time in the kids play area. My...More

200 yards from the Crockett Hotel, which overlooks the Alamo. Great group of volunteers running this almost-free museum. As a senior, I got $2 reduction to the usual $5 entry fee. Small guided tour by ex-fireman was quite interesting. Also all the photos, and the...More

The kids loved putting on the fire gear and walking into the ambulance. Wish they had a little more, maybe a hose to pick up or something.

I was not really looking forward to this museum visit. It turned out to be my favorite of the whole trip. A lot of history.

We went there with our son who is a firefighter. It was very interesting learning about the early days of firefighting in San Antonio. They gave us a guided tour that was very educational. They had many engines on display as well as early firefighting...More

Interactive and informative. Anyone interested in fire should check this museum out! Lots of heroic stories from the past. The best part was having retired fighter fighters tell us about their career. Support these brave women and men!!!
