I had a limited experience, as I kayaked there. If I had more time and the weather was better I would have explored it further. It does have a good beach to land on if one is paddling from another location.

It is a beautiful park and at low tide it has great tide pools. It is also one of the best places to see the whales from the shore.

This isn't a huge park, but it is worth a visit. We saw 6 Orcas from land - so cool! The lighthouse is small, but pretty. Lots of picnic tables, so pack a lunch. Discover Pass is needed.

Lime Kiln Point State Park has lime. It has kilns. But the original purpose for developing the land - mining and kilning lime - is secondary now. The park's real attractions are its expansive views of the Sound and old vegetation. Though we didn't see...More

Beautiful views. Easy drive from Friday Harbor. I would have loved to ride bikes there from Friday Harbor but I made a great choice to drive instead. It would have been too much elevation & distance for a moderate intermediate cyclist like me.

First of all, they charge $10 just to visit the park which offers views of the sound and hopefully Orca Whales. Sadly we did not see any whales, but did see a couple bald eagles flying above our heads. Pretty light house and rocks to...More

One of the few, or only place, in the world to watch Orcas from land, if you happen to be there. It is however also a great picnic area, with quite a few tables and benches, to enjoy 'al fresco' dining. Right by the water...More

The state park was fantastic to go through as a history buff I loved seeing the English Royal Marine fort and it's surrounding quarters when the British with the Hudson Bay Trading Company had a land dispute with American settlers there in the mid 1800's....More

Stopped by and did a short hike to the waters. The trees were so different, and just beautiful. There is a little lighthouse that is picturesque! I am very glad I stopped by

what is the best way to get there from Friday Harbor without a car? we will be travelling in early May and will have a car with us on Orcas island which we are planning on leaving there for a day trip to San Juan Island unless it is better to bring the car. also, if we do rely on bike rental or public transportation is there a place nearby where we could pick up food for a picnic lunch? Thanks
