If you're an individual who loves architecture then this is a must see item in Santa Fe, New Mexico. The inside of the cathedral reminds one of being in Europe. The obvious difference is the choice of colors for the murals and walls. But, it reminds me a lot of The Basilica of Saint Francis of Assisi in Italy. The... More

This beautiful, expansive church is definitely impressive. It has size, wonderful decor and majesty. The stations of the cross garden is also worth visiting although the statues may a bit too modern for some tastes. The park on the north side of the church is a shady, restful place. One of the highlights of Santa Fe.

This was the first site that my wife and I visited when we arrived in Santa Fe. We drove to SF from Albuquerque on Saturday, 11 Jun 2016; after checking in to our hotel a few miles away from downtown, we drove downtown, parked in the spacious parking lot behind this site, and enjoyed the special atmosphere at the front... There is so much history on the grounds of the Basilica! Don't forget to walk around the gardens and chapels around the main building.

An amazing piece of architecture. It's beautifully structured either by an unknown carpenter. Some believe it was Jesus' dad Joseph. Come see it and marvel at God and his gifts!

This beautiful 19th Century Romanesque revival cathedral dominates the skyline of downtown Santa Fe. In a city of soft pueblo style buildings its geometric balance and confidence magnetise your eyes and demand further investigation. Give it at least a half hour of your time – you will not be disappointed. Inside it is surprisingly light with broad arches, Corinthian columns... More

While much smaller than the great European cathedrals, it is a wonderful example of the architecture of its' time, and of how deep the roots of the Catholic faith go back in New Mexico. Well worth a visit, particularly given the central location.
