This a small museum, but has a wonderful collection. Gustave Beauman pieces are shown on a rotating basis. We also enjoyed the more modern section of the collection. The true work of art is the building - very much enjoyed the architecture and detail of...More

This place exceeded my expectations. The New Mexico art was intriguing, and in it's own right, more diverse than expected. But there was also a great variety of other styles present which made for a great visit.

We kind of stumbled into this museum via its lovely giftshop, and ended up staying to see the entire collection, which was extensive. There are several interactive areas for adults and children alike. Definitely worth a visit!

The museum was closed (on a Monday off season) but the walking tour was on and did we get a treat! The tour should be called an 'Art and Architecture Tour' as that is what it encompassed and it was great. The guide was friendly...More

I was in Santa Fe over the Thanksgiving weekend in 2017. NMMA was reopening on that Saturday (after maintenance and renovations) for it's 100th anniversary. And it was free! Personally, I love this museum focused on the art of New Mexico. Given the focus, I...More

The building and museum courtyard are beautiful in of themselves. And it was interesting to view the WPA murals and other artists of that era. Very pleasant hour while taking in the Plaza area.

Having been to Georgia O'Keeffe's and Grant Galleria the day before we were expecting more than we experienced here. The staff were great and the courtyard was interesting, but much of the art was of lower than expected quality. The permanent gallery had many fine...More
