Self-guided tours, but plenty of information is provided. More akin to an art museum than a capitol building

A credit to Sante Fe and the people of New Mexico. The capitol complex is magnificently and immaculately maintained. The artwork is refreshing. The staff are knowledgeable and rightly proud,

Take a couple of hours to see the art in the galleries. Wide variety of art and usually includes a special exhibit. Not to be missed. Enjoy!

It is so nice, especially these dhese days to be able to simply walk into a major public building, in this case the State legislature, and walk around. The reason to go there is to view the vast colllection of works by New Mexican artists....More

The Roundhouse really is what it represents itself to be: round. Which makes it interesting to begin with. The art therein is museum quality, and there's plenty of it. It's wide open, and there's no fee to explore the entire facility (when the legislature isn't...More

We stopped by to view the art exhibit and found high quality art on every floor that had been donated to the capitol. The quality was equal to many fine art museums and I am so very glad we took the time to do the...More

Go visit this building for the art. Trust me, you'll be glad. The state has an incredible, varied, widely culturally representative collection, and it is hanging/mounted/standing all over this building. Some pieces have good notes on wall cards and others have nothing at all, but...More

Our walking guide suggested that we go here just to see the $20 million in art hanging throughout the building. Especially the recycled buffalo head. There was also an elementary school group playing in the rotunda. Best part - it is free!

Stopped in and was amazed there is virtually no security. They had a college recruitment event so it was active with people. Sat in briefly and listened to them presenting students for citations. Only stayed 10-15 minutes.

I did not notice wheel chairs. There are adequate elevators and east access to the chamber so limited walking is required and no stairs to climb.

The best parking is across the street from the round house, I believe that is Galisteo street. That way you won't have to worry about feeding a meter. Enjoy your trip and Welcome to Santa Fe!
