Well-manicured walking path with gorgeous scenery and outlook at the end! It was so quiet and peaceful. The leaves changing colors added beauty to our experience on our morning walk with our dogs. Perfect for all ages and walking ability and handicap accessible.

Great little hike on a flat, paved path with a lovely view at the end. There are some large flat rocks you can sun on or take pics! Kids liked scrambling over the rock formations on the path.

Just want to let everyone know before you go that the trail is open from dawn to dusk. Went there yesterday to try and view the northern lights from there and there's a sign on the tree that told us that.

If you're lucky enough to catch a time in the day when you reach the overlook and to have it all to yourselves this is a magical spiritual place! - Beautiful views of the valley and distant mountains, with Bald Eagles flying overhead. (And yes those are Bald Eagles, even the one's that don't have their distinctive white head and tail features yet are immature ones!)

Short, shaded & paved to an awesome lookout toward Luray….just wonderful with Rock formation scattered about. Doesn’t take long, don’t miss it! There are benches at the overlook to sit on to just enjoy the view!

We are so happy that our B&B hosts told us about this place because we probably would have missed it with so many other attractions competing for our time and attention. I'm a photographer and sometimes recommended vistas and overlooks fail to deliver. However, we were so impressed with this one that we went back twice in two days.

Parking was a little tight for a weekday, so you may want to go earlier or later in day. It's a very easy, short, and obstacle-free pathway to the overlook. This is a well-maintained trail made accessible to everyone.

The outlook has a nice viewing platform, but it's the view that's stunning. If you have a panorama feature on your phone---capture it here! My favorite scene is probably best captured with a telephoto lens showing a sliver of highway down in the valley surrounded by lush green trees.

My best shots were taken along the edge of the overlook to the right of the platform. Accessible but keep wits about you because you're off the maintained pathway. You'll be rewarded with some good photo opportunities but stay alert as you navigate this area.

Skyline Drive may be the Big Daddy of Vistas, but Storybook Trail is a must-see if you're in the Valley.

The trail head is right next to a gorgeous overlook. A bit rocky but mostly flat. Parking was very limited with lots of tow signs everywhere.

This is a paved short hike out to an overlook and then back. The forest is pretty and you pass several rock outcrops. Sadly vandals have destroyed most of the interpretive signs.

Worth the brief drive up the mountain and the very short walk for an impressive view of the valley. A short side trip, but a good one.

If you are NOT a hiker, put Massanutten Storybrook Trail “Overlook” into you GPS--- drive carefully around the narrow hairpin curves up to the overlook parking area. You then have a nice 10-15 minute stroll up a boardwalk path to the overlook. Along the way, you can read informative signs about how the valley used to be an inland sea, etc. There are also nice rock formations along the path--- but please be careful in posing for your photos…!
In the end, the view is truly worth the stroll, though we found a comparable overlook that was easier to access, directly at the Massanutten Resort (but it requires you to go through the resort gates).
