DOS: 6/1/2016 My husband and I had snorkeled all over the Caribbean and Gulf of Mexico, so when we saw "Dry Suit Snorkeling" on our cruise excursion list, we had to sign up. We and five other brave souls donned the many layers suggested (and required) to dip into the waters off of Halibut Point State Recreation Area. While there... More

Had a great time exploring the sea life around a little island. Our guide Cody was very friendly and knowledgable of the wildlife. The only bummer was the dry suit I had, neck way too tight for a comfortable snorkel. Make sure the suit fits. Other than suit, had a nice time off the ship. Saw lots of fish, starfish,... More

This was a fantastic experience to see different underwater life. Tons of beautiful starfish, crabs, jellyfish, corals, and kelp. The water was crystal clear. The dive suits felt strange but were totally bouyant and toasty warm. The crew was amazing!!! They were knowledgeable, qualified, and passionate. Must not forget they had a fantastic sense of humour and kept us laughing!... More

I signed up for their Bird Watching excursion from our cruise ship. Come to find out, I was the only one on the ship that signed up. I was so happy they didn't cancel, as it was a beautiful walk. Added several birds to my life list and learned a lot about the flora and fauna. Laura was an excellent... More

We chose to do their bike and hike adventure. I was a little nervous traveling on the roads and had hoped for a little more out of the way biking, but like the guide said, people are very bike friendly in Sitka, so there was no real concern. I would liked to have a little more out of the way... More

We did the Sitka Bike and Hike trip in May 2012. A very informative and picturesque ride and hike from Sawmill Cove to Thimbleberry Lake in the Tongass National Forest. Caleb was a walking almanac of facts and figures about the Alaskan rain forest. Neither the bike ride nor the hike were strenuous and we enjoyed this trip. A good... More

We took the Tongass Rain Forest Hike from a cruise stop in Sitka last week. Our guide's name was Katherine. We wished we could have found out more about what brought her to Alaska, what she did when she wasn't guiding, etc. but she gave us so much information about our surroundings that we didn't really have a chance to... I purchased a nice and fairly expensive mtn bike at the start of the summer. When I finally got it from them 2 weeks after they said it would be ready it was not properly assembled (low tire pressure, things not tightened, etc). I took it back to them a month and a half later for the free maintenance session... More

My Dad was coming to town to visit so we scheduled a drysuit class with Island Fever, the only dive shop in town. He is respected instructor back home and certified me so it is something we share and it holds a lot of meaning to us. I scheduled a class and pre-purchased the books and materials as required, but... More

We joined a trip through our cruise ship, MV Mercury, in May '09 and after being tendered ashore were picked up from the harbour by our guide, who also runs the 'bike and hike' side of Island fever. She took us to the bike centre which is situated several miles outside town (and in a building that also contains a... More
