This facility fosters orphaned bears (Alaskan law calls for euthanizing orphan cubs) who have lost or been abandoned by their mothers. At the time of our visit they had several grizzlies and black bears enjoying their play areas. Lots of things to keep the bears...More

This attraction is located in an old water treatment facility and appears to be quite short on funds. They rehabilitate injured bears but the State of Alaska will not yet allow the rehabilitated bears to be returned to the wild as the raptors currently are....More

While the bears viewed, both grizzly and black bear, could not be returned to the wild they seemed to be well cared for although the black bears had created the usual stress track of caged animals. One of the ponds was in disuse and needed...More

Brown bears and Black bears in captivity, but natural habitat. One of the Brown bears uses sign language to communicate, especially when asking for food.Attendants are quite knowledgeable and friendly. Good opportunity for photos. Suggest about a 90 minute visit.

Visited through Tribal Tours. They were fantastic! We were able to be the first ones there in the morning, so only about 6 of us. This allowed us to hear great stories about the bears as well as watch them getting fed.

The bears are free within an enclosure, brown bears on one side and black bears on another. It is not like seeing them in the wild, but it is the next best thing and seeing them is guaranteed. A fun half an hour stop. Went...More
