The park and grounds were nice enough for a little hike. I had high hopes for the museum but was a bit disappointed. Left without a good understanding the the Totems and the history.

Totem poles galore. You will learn more about tote poles and while walking the center and enjoying the wide variety of displays. The Staff is knowledgeable and you wiil learn more about totems than ever before.

Not sure what is the best part, the wonderful walk or the center with so many displays. I would always return! It is one reason I love returning to Sitka!

on a visit to Alaska, we did the park. It was a great walk with many totems along the way. Inside we got to visit the guy who carved many of them.

Amazing totem poles in a beautiful setting. Don't miss the salmon stream, eagle aeries, and museum. Met a carver and beadworker in the museum. Great stop.

Great collection of totems and native crafts with actual natives plying their crafts and answering your questions. Park Rangers are very informative.

The Totem Pole Park is a very short distance from the center of town. You simply walk westward and it may be a 20 minute walk.

We flew into Sitka and self-directed our entire vacation, so I can't speak to what the cruise may offer. However, we walked to the park in the rain from our hotel and did the tour on our own. It is free and self-guided... More
