We picked this tour when we got in town from the cruise ship. We loved that it was a small tour (6 people). We saw a ton of whales and a sea otter. It was one of the best whale watching tours I have ever gone on!

This was an awesome experience! Love the small group (6 maximum) and all the whales we saw along with the sea otters and sea lions. Highly recommend it!

This was one of the best shore excursion experiences I have had among many (10+ cruises). A two hour private boat tour of the Sitka area with primary emphasis on Whale Watching exceeded all expectations. The vessel was great - 26 foot catamaran with heated indoor cabin and outside viewing area. Smooth riding, great visibility, clean, and comfortable seating. The... More

Our whale watching adventure with Sonny was truly amazing. As a native of Sitka, he knew just where to find the whales and was able to get us up close and personal. The small size of our group was a bonus. Only six passengers on each trip so you are able to get closer and see so much more. For... More

Fran took us to the best spots for photos, kept us on time for our short stay in Sitka and we made it back to our cruise ship on time. She has ample knowledge about life in Sitka, the sights, history, and plants and wildlife, and obviously takes in pride in researching her information and providing an authentic experience. We... We enjoyed this tour very much. Maria our tour guide was born and raised in Sitka and you could tell how much she loved it. She moved rocks to show us little crabs and explain why they hide under rocks. She also took us to Fortress of the Bear which is a bear sanctuary and was very interesting. Maria was... More

We saw so many whales. The scenery is spectacular. Rhonda was tremendously responsive in setting up the tour, and Bruce was a great captain. The boat is cozy for a total of 7 people including Bruce, but was just fine once we got to know our ship mates and how to move around each other in the space. I have... More

There were nine of us ,all friends in a van tour of Sitka. Our tour guide, Maria, was great. She was born and raised in Sitka and gave an excellent tour. We saw bears at Fortress of the Bears , where they care for abandoned bear cubs, that are now grown. We saw eagles and eagles nest. We also salmon... More

6 on boat too many for comfortable viewing. Mediocre tour. Guide not knowledgeable about birds. Guide was able to find us an abundance of whales. But we had to insist guide move on to show us more wildlife rather than just sit and watch whales. Guide was then able to find us Sea Otters, and a Sea Lion. Not offered... More

Rhonda C, Owner at Sitka Wildlife Tours, responded to this review

Thank you for your comments and we are very sorry to hear your boat trip did not meet your expectations. We try very hard to clearly market our 26 foot vessel and have seating the same size as all coach airline seats (17"). We adjust the numbers of clients by size to make you more comfortable. We have no control... More
