I have been on the tour three times because we bring out of town visitors to the Mansion. This is a must for history buffs. The staff are pleasant and the tour guides are knowledgeable. I thought the hour tour was a bit pricey and should be dropped to $10. It is shocking to think that not too long ago,... More

This was the most enjoyable home tour ever! Our guide Joe Maloney was not only knows about the property but his attitude is contagious. The tour is good because very few areas are roped off and you can really get a feel for the place. If you like touring old homes don't miss this one if you are ever near... More

My husband and I took the Evergreen Cemetery tour tonight telling some of the history of the founding fathers of Murfreesboro, TN. This is done every year around Halloween. There are also professional storytellers among the old graves and headstones to really give a feel for the history of the Cemetery. Fascinating tour! I want to come back next year... More

We really enjoyed the tour of the Oaklands Mansion---the house itself has very interesting architecture as it was built in several stages over the decades. The movie in the visitor's center is definitely showing its age, but the explanation of the different house configurations throughout the years was educational and humorous. The house is quite nice inside. The house is... More

Well maintained hrounfs at beautiful mansion. We didnt view inside of mansion as it was closed, but I was still elated with all I saw. Lots of signage and cool things to see. Daughter played at a park yards from the house. Place seemed immaculate inside and out. Will return one day and see the inside.

I was over all pleased with this tour. The original section of the house was built in 1818 and expanded as the family did over the years. it boasts several original features (wood floors) and some furniture and wares that was owned by the family. The house when I visited also set up for Victorian funeral for both adult and... More

I was there on a Saturday, the weather was great. They had a wedding going on the outside, which looked pretty. The grounds were lovely. The mansion was very interesting going thru the rooms. I keep watching for a ghost or two. If your in Murfreesboro, you need to see this mansion.

We got there right at 10:00 am when they opened. You first go into a gift shop area where we paid the fee. We had a wonderful tour guide who was very knowledgeable on the home and surrounding areas. We were also allowed to take pictures, which was great, loved this tour, the beautiful history.

You're here because you enjoy history and period architecture. There were no crowds during our visit so we received undivided attention from the guide. We were able to pace ourselves, ask lots of questions and encouraged to take lots of pictures. We enjoyed the relaxing pace and were fascinated by the depth of history surrounding Oaklands. Come see for yourself.... More
