Pleasant 35 miles per hour drive though pine forest to get to Walnut Canyon National Monument. We were sorry that due to time constraints, we couldn't explore some of the trails.

This is the road to Walnut Canyon visitor center. Amazing, the view changes with every curve. The canyon is gorgeous bit get there early the island trail closes at 4pm. This is a place not to be missed but bring a jacket, hat and gloves,...More

An amazing road with jaw-dropping scenics and adrenaline-filled hairpins and switchbacks. Top it off with a visit to Oak Creek and Sliding Rock.

This is the entrance to Walnut Canyon National Monument. Very nice scenery for a roadway. Runs between I-40 and the Visitor Center.

These off road trails that connect here are pretty cool. They follow the 40 and go under and around the trains too. some paths can be a bit narrow as well so I recommend a jeep more than a truck for this one.

We took a nice drive on Walnut Canyon Drive. Its a scenic drive. There is nice Ponderosa Pines along the drive. We visited the visitor center at Walnut Canyon, which was interesting, as well as took a hike.
