Lots of birds at beginning, but open on the bottom. Nice view at top of Fisher Point. About 7 mi roundtrip.

Maybe the 'one mile,easy' route was staying on the rim? The descent into the canyon was about a 200' drop, pretty steep & rocky, glad I had trekking poles. Beautiful trail at the bottom that ties into the Arizona Trail and possibilities like Fisher Point...More

Unexpectedly beautiful and diverse little hike. Mountain vistas and bizarre sandstone cliffs. Microspikes are fun mid-winter.

The hike was reviewed by Arizona Highways. The hike was nice with a reward of beautiful canyon walls at the end. Early May would likely have had wildflowers and more butterflies. It is a great break from the heat of the Sonoran Desert in Phoenix.
