We loved this home, mostly kept in tact by the family and historical society. Also we were lucky enough to see 'the Marquis' the day we were there. He came out and gave us so much information about himself, his time, his wife, and the...More

Really enjoyed the history in this home. 95% of the furnishings etc are the originals. The wife left the home and never came back. Someone was hired for 50 years just to care for the home.

Very interesting history of the town of Medora 1886-1889, and the Marquis de Mores who named the town after his wife. The dwelling gives you a good idea of what people lived like in those days.

Took Grandkids to the Chateau, Grandkids were interested in seeing how the better off people lived in the day. Most of the tour guides were informed and helpful. Interesting place.

This is an interesting home. Very elaborate for the time. Especially when you consider it was " just a hunting cabin". This was not considered the main home for the family. 95% of the furniture belonged to the family

We enjoyed walking through the house and the two galleries. An extra special treat was to see the History Alive!! The talk was about the CCC and it was fantastic!!

If your going to be in Medora you should take the time to see this old house. If you like history this is your place. Well worth the price of admission.

This is a must see to understand the history of Medora. It is hard for us to imagine why such wealthy people from Europe would be interested in this part of the world. It was a very different time in the 1880's. Much has changed...More
