We walked the entire length from one end to the other. The terrain varies greatly from paved to dirt to rugged and rocky, so be prepared, but the views of both the water and mansions are spectacular. This is our new favorite spot to enjoy...More

So this is a must do in Newport. But even better if you take the couple of hours to walk the whole way, even if it's just one way. Lots of huge mansions to check out but we preferred looking out to the water and...More

Cliff Walk is well worth the visit if you have time while in Newport. It has lovely views of the coast and you get to peek into the backyards of the mansions along the trail! Salve Regina College is a particularly inviting place to have...More

We enjoyed every minute of the Cliff Walk. It is the highlight of Newport visitations. Being outside no matter what time of the day is unique in this setting. I do not know anyone who does not get pleasure from spending time walking on this.

We walked the cliff walk after seeing the historic mansions and it was beautiful! A nice way to see the cliffs and ocean as well as the back of the mansions. The second half of it could be more difficult for some people as you...More

It was a foggy morning, but views were still pretty good and we could see the potential for better weather. Part of the walk was closed for maintenance, but there was a well marked detour. We did only the first mile up to the detour...More

This is such a scenic and peaceful walk. Well worth it, we ran from our guest house along the walk and back several times early in the morning and late afternoon. Do take time to watch the sunset from this location.

Lovely easy walk along the water with the Ocean on one side and the beautiful Mansions behind you. The views were stunning both the water view and the land view.

Hi. The Cliff Walk is on the eastern side of the peninsula, where some of the mansions are located. It would be too far to walk from the city center area. Someone with knee problems can walk easily, but not the whole route... More
How challenging is the walk from Easton to Breakers? I am going with someone with knee problems. Would you only do Narragansett to Breakers?

Impossible for me to say without knowing your friend and the medical situation better. Basically it's an easy walk, and it boils down to the number of miles he/she can comfortably walk. There's nothing difficult in terms of... More

The entire walk is pretty long (about 3.5 miles long), so depends on how much you want to walk! You can definitely just walk a small section of the walk closer to the downtown Newport Harbor area, then just walk back and... More
