This was our first trip to Hawaii and our first real Luau. We enjoyed the pre luau events and music/interaction the best, but everything was wonderful! We'd love to come again someday.

I really enjoyed this experience with my husband, amazing dancers and fire talent! The food was decent but not 5 star. I really liked the beginning entrance by being greeted with a shell necklace and welcome drink! The entertainment was on point and I truly felt I was in the heart of Hawaiian culture!

We first attended the Hale Koa luau six years ago. We went again this week and we're impressed at the improvement in good and entertainment The preshow, a cocktail hour of sorts where you drink, have your photo taken, and mingle , was highlighted by an entertaining explanation of the luau before heading to your table. The meal itself was... More

First of all, this is reserved for folks with military / retiree ID, as it's part of the Hale Koa Hotel. Secondly, get here early and purpose to sit as close to the stage as possible - that's a key to having the best visibility of what's happening on the stage. Dinner meal is pretty good, but there's lots of... More

Dinner and a show? Maybe, if you could SEE THE SHOW!!! Way to many people and you can't see the entertainment in the garden area. THEN...after an hour of standing around. We found our seats; cheap plastic chairs, super crowded (10)per table. We looked toward the stage and all we see are GIANT CEMENT PILLARS!!!! As you try to maneuver... More

Liked the initial gathering entertainment and main show. Food was below my expectations considering the cost. Other than convenience to the Hale Koa, I would not recommend it.

Military ID required- The gates open at 5:30 with a complementary cocktails, pictures with performers, temporary tattoos, crowns woven from leaves.. and then the performances begin. A bit of music, a bit of comedy.., something for the whole family. It's an outdoor venue, so yes, the chairs are cheap plastic lawn chairs. Water is self-served from large containers near the... It had been over five years since the last time I attended the Hale Koa luau and I wondered if it would hold up to my memories. The answer is definitely yes!!! There is an updated option of ordering tickets online ahead of time, we were able to reserve front row seats. They also have a great vegetarian option now... More

The Hale Koa is a military hotel but anyone can get tickets to the luau which is preceded by several demonstrations. Parking is in a parking garage across the street so get your ticket validated. The luau is on the beach side of the hotel so plan on a good hike to the excellent show and decent food.

This was my second Luau, but my family's first. I was glade I took them to this one for there first. The grounds are much nicer than Jermaine's Luau, but that is also reflected in the price.
