Wonderful experience. The hike itself is too bad, unfortunately, it is difficult to move at your own pace as the crowd really pushes you along. The view at the top is worth the hike, however, the hike isn't for the faint of heart!

We had the best time climbing the mountain and the views are breath taking. Would recommend going early in the morning due to the heat during the day. Don't miss this experience in Hawaii.

Diamond head was a beautiful experience. Not too hard to hike and the view is stunning. A must to do on Oahu.

Due to the sun ans heat, the climb is not as easy as it seems. But it's well worth the effort, the view from the rim (towards the sea, and towards Honolulu) is beautiful. Be sure to bring a hat and lots of water, you...More

We climbed this with our 7 year old. Took us about 45 minutes taking our time to climb up it and 25 to come down. Wear tennis shoes because the trail is very uneven. Take water and go early in the morning. A lot of...More

Go early! It's not as hot and it allows you to get a parking spot near the entrance to the trail. Wear tennis shoes-- I saw a woman in heels, not sure what she was thinking--and bring water and a camera. Amazing views from the...More

The view at the top of diamond head is certainly worth the hike. Be mindful though it's quite challenging (coming from two fit 30yr olds) and definitely not suitable for very young children. The path gets very busy (thousands hike up and down each day)...More

After living in Hawaii for 27 years...in January, three of us walked up to the top of Diamond Head! One was 75 years old, one was 73 years old and one was 59 years old. Before starting, I made a pact with the other two....More

Diamond Head was an awesome hike. It was quite crowded but if you can maneuver among small crowds of people you will have no problem. Climbing the mountain isn't the hard part, its when you want to get to the top and have to climb...More

Be prepared to get there very early, or leave your visit until later in the afternoon. We arrived at about 9am, and the queue to get in to the car park was quite long. Unfortunately, there is very limited parking available and they turned most...More

Hi Kristy It's exactly 3kms from the Moana Surfrider hotel to the entrance of Diamond Head. It takes only about 15-20mins of brisk walking. It's a nice walk. Otherwise, there is one of those Connection Trolley buses you can... More

Check the local weather, then back up your arrival time by at least an hour due to traffic.

Hi, It is US$1 per person or $5 per car to enter the park. Our taxi driver stopped just before the entrance so we could pay per person. Enjoy! dlnr.hawaii.gov/dsp/parks/oahu/diamond-head-state-monument/
