Ala Moana is a nice park with a lot of open lawn area. The water is typically very calm and a good place to swim laps or try a paddle board. The park is not usually too crowded. I wouldn't go out of my way to visit it because there are so many beautiful parks on the island, but if... More

Easy to get to as it is opposite the Ala Moana shopping centre. It is longer and wider than Waikiki with the same clear blue water, more sand, no hotels on the beach, no crowds. You have to visit Waikiki to say you have done it but this is the place for a relaxing time at the beach. Kid friendly

Visited on Thanksgiving. Family groups were taking advantage of no crowds and time off. It is a nice place to walk and enjoy the view of the marina and the city. Parking was free.

It can get crowded and parking can be a pain but the beach is nice. You can swim in the calm water or go past the reef and hit the surf. If you decided on surfing, it is quite a far paddle. Also the water can be really low on the reef when it's low tide so you have to... More

The Ala Moana beach Park is a little ways down from the Waikiki beaches it's a lot less crowded and very nice. The water is beautiful and the park is a great place to relax. Across the street is the Ala Moana shopping center another great place to visit.

This was a beautiful park that was not overly busy on a weekday visit. Views were really nice. The beach was not crowded and the wave break wall allowed for the kids to safely swim while the water splashed high in the sky. This park borders a marina which allowed for some more beautiful pictures of palms, sand, boats, and... More

You can take the Red line trolley (sort of hop on hop off) from Waikiki to this 76 acre Park with one of the nicest beaches around. It was dedicated by President Roosevelt in 1934. A very nice morning trip out of crowded Waikiki. Plenty to do. Get hotel to pack a lunch or buy something at the park

I had to make sure we wore water socks. Get there early enough and parking is nice and close without paying. Very calm and easy for 8 year old to swim in. If you need a break from the Waikiki strip - definitely head here. In a matter of one hour we saw at least 20 different couples getting their... More
