Most unique state building in its connection to nature with its open courtyard and surrounding pools. I think that openess is a representation of the aloha spirit even in government. We just spent a few minutes here after touring the palace.

While there is a self-guided tour of the Capital, hold out for the Wednesday 1PM Guided Tour which has more of the history of not only the building, but Hawaii as a Kingdom, and now a state. Interesting architecture and art collection as well.
