several national monument of each state involved or had a part in the Civil war----one of many----promise, its worth your time---you will return. Plus, the Souths war ship that was found and removed from the bottom of the Mississippi---unbelievable.

Count the Steps to determine the significance. View the names inside. The view is fabulous. This is on the driving trail through the Vicksburg Battlefield.

Most impressive of all the monuments on the National Cemetery drive. Good vantage point of the surroundings that captures the true enormity of this pivotal hard won battlefield.
