Full of battlefield memorabilia. Uniforms, guns, artillery, munitions. Cultural artifacts of the Civil War period and others. This museum also has Civil War items for sale. It is also open on Sundays when most of Vicksburg is closed including most restaurants.

Lots of information and artifacts from the Vicksburg battle. Also other exhibits related to area history. Small gift shop. Recommend if you're a civil war buff or just looking for an interesting place to explore. Admission only $5 so a good value.

This is a notable antebellum Greek Revival courthouse, needs some preservation work (downspouts, concrete facing on retaining wall, sewer work on men's bathroom, etc) best aspect was the preserved cistern on the northwest corner. Facing it is a classic 1930s New Deal art deco current courthouse with some beautiful stonework.

Glad this building survived the bombardment! The courtroom upstairs has a gorgeous display of iron railings. The stairs themselves are also solid iron. Every other room up and down is chock full of primarily civil war memorabilia. I suggest you do this after a guided tour of The National Park. You can observe all of the items scavenged from the... Beautiful historic courthouse full of treasures. I especially enjoyed that the courtroom was open and not all roped off so you can to walk around .( Jury area is roped though) So fortunate the building was not demolished when new courthouse came across the street. This is a truly nice building to show off lots of Vicksburg artifacts . Oh,... More

The Courthouse grounds are beautiful and the collection inside is interesting, but the most intriguing parts for me were the Iraqi flag and the collection of clothing upstairs.

This is a jam packed museum! Displays are close together and almost too much to look at. It is a good filler when looking for something to do instead of sitting in a trailer all day.

This "Old Court House has been converted to a Historical museum and includes an amazing number of memorabilia from the early 1800's and early 1900's. A special treat at the top is a old court room from the 1800's untouched. Knowing that Jefferson Davis and Ulysses S. Grant was in that building was very exciting, Davis began his political career...
