The square is a fun gathering place with tables and chairs provided. The beautiful fountain bronze "The Genius of Water" it has been the simbolic center of Cincinnati since 1871. The P&G stage area provides live bands in the evenings.

Went here after the Carew tower observation. It was a good place to take a few shots. The fountain there's few pennies in the fountain. Definetely would be a nice place during the holidays.

Fountain Square has unique events going on all year round. Between ice skating in the Winter to festivals and Salsa on the Square in the Summer, there are always things to do for all ages. I couldn't imagine downtown Cincinnati without it!

I believe that the German market that you are reference is 'Findlay Market' which is on the northwest side of downtown. I think that it is only open during daytime hours. It is better and livelier during warmer months
