Lucky for us, the overlook trail (park at Fairy Falls) was recently opened and this view is the view you want to see. If it is cloudy the colors won't be near as vibrant but the sky opened up briefly while we were up there...More

The short (.75 mile each way) hike to the outlook over Grand Prismatic spring opened just a few weeks ago, but it is already drawing well-earned crowds. The vistas over Grand Prismatic are much more dramatic than simply walking to Grand Prismatic from Midway Geyser...More

The colors in and around the lake is fantastic. Come early or late for great light for pictures and to avoid the crowd.

I never thought I would see this in reality. It's not like the photoshopped web images which have unnatural colours and no steam. Instead it's REAL! Take the new trail to the elevated viewing knoll for an even better vantage point.

The Grand Prismatic Spring is a must see. Now you can look at from an elevated overlook that the park service just opened.

So glad we made the trek to see this little wonder of Yellowstone Park. You had to park about a mile away because it was so crowded, but definitely worth it. It is truly amazing to see the prismatic colors of the springs.

Next to Old Faithful, I rank this the second most popular spot in Yellowstone. If u are fit and able, do the 6 mile hike up fairy falls trail to see it from up top. The views from any level are amazing, but looking down...More
