We visited here last week when it was so very cold! This was one of our stops while snowmobiling around the park. So much snow and ice! Just breathtaking! I can only imagine how beautiful it is in the summer. May have to plan another...More

Firehole River is a lovely river tucked away on a trail just off Grand Loop Road. There is a waterfall about 5 minutes into the trail. Before you enter the wooded area, there is a grassy plain perfect for viewing coyotes and bison. The river...More

Stopped by it on the way out and it was one of the better photo spots if you take the climbing trails. Lots of people were catching big fish too.

This is one of the few places in yellowstone where you can swim. We drove the firehole river road and stopped off. It was quite busy but it was lovely in the water and you could swim upstream and float back with the current. A...More

This is a wonderful river that flows from Madison, through the geyser basins in Yellowstone. There's many areas to stop & fish, or just watch the river. Very wild & beautiful!

Okay, Beckler and Cave Falls are Fantastic, but if you are in the park this is the Best without a long hike. There are a couple of parking spaces on the one way loop, and even one or two on the main loop, but they...More

We happened upon this while driving and it provided amazing views. We went on it twice so we could show it to another member of the family who didn't get to see it the 1st time.

I may be mistaken, but as far as I know swimming is not allowed anywhere within the park. Having last visited in February, swimming was not on my agenda anyway.
Is this a non smoking facility?
