As the great writer, Edward Abbey said... "In the first place, you can't see anything from a car; you've got to get out of the contraption and walk, better yet crawl, on hands and knees, over the sandstone and through the thorn bush and cactus....More

This drive can be done in a single day, however you will miss lots of what Yellowstone has to offer. Being early June, many animals were out and about at nearly all times of the day. Buffalo/Bison were nearly seen during each leg of the...More

The Loop offers to view the wild life along with scenic spots. All the wild animals we can see along the route with river flows , geysers, snow capped mountains and water falls.

I could write a book on driving the loops but others have expressed many good points; what to stop and see and what to skip if time is limited. From our viewpoint the loops and stops at some of the most unique geysers etc. allow...More

Must visit when at Yellowstone. Almost all major attractions in the park are off this road. There are a ton of bison in the northeast area especially in Lamar Valley. We really enjoyed our drive but its very long. Plan accordingly

Driving this road is a must. Practically, their are few other options in the Park. But beyond that, driving this road was key to our enjoyment. By maintaining the speed limit, 45mph most places, we enjoyed plenty of fantastic scenery. And, we spotted much wildlife;...More
