We had a personal tour guide for one of our days at Yellowstone. That day was the highlight of our trip--knowing we were being led by an expert with super sharp eyes that found things we would have missed. We were able to view wolves through spotting scopes, a grizzly bear, and also took a hike to an abandoned wolf... More

Be sure to check out the Yellowstone Institute before you visit Yellowstone National Park. There are various tours and programs to help you see the animals and learn about the park. We took the "Essential Yellowstone" program- had a fantastic guide in Ted and for three days saw the animals and learned so much about the park's formation and history.... More

We had such fun taking a class here. These buildings are fantastic and the institute even better. Bring your snacks, lunches, etc for the classes. They start from day long classes to multiple days. We are older, and the one day class was perfect. Many people who worked in Yellowstone were in the classes and we got lots of tips... More

I heard great things about Yellowstone Institute and wanted to take their Wilderness First Responder course. I’d had medical training before (as a member and eventual leader of a search and rescue team) and really enjoyed it, so I thought this would be a similar experience. Unfortunately that wasn't the case. On the first day of the course we were... More

By joining at even the lowest level you are supporting a wonderful organization that is taking care of this amazing park. You get a discount on lodging for being a member which almost offsets the fee and when you visit their store in the visitor center at Old Faithful you get a gift, which in our case was a cute... The up close and personal experiences we had during our entire stay in Yellowstone National Park has put this trip at the top of our favorites and we have covered many National Parks during the years. This Park offers it all: hiking, exploring; geysers; waterfalls; valleys filled with bison; and the list goes one... Hopefully everyone will be able to... More

I had never visited Yellowstone but wanted to do more than a one or two day drive-by experience. Trails through Yellowstone was a 4 day adventure, with lodge stays at night, that allowed a true taste of the Park. The adventure took us to the crowds at Old Faithful and Canyon but also to more remote locales and on hikes... More

We stopped here to ask some questions and were suprised by how many and the significance of the offerings to the general public. We visited with Harold who was kind enough to spend time with us and answer our many questions about Yellowstone. Check into the Institute's programs prior to your visit to Yellowstone NP.

Went on a tour with my sister and her two kids. Our guide picked us up at 6 am at Roosevelt, where we were staying. We went to Lamar valley and Hayden valley and saw many, many bison, an adult wolf and two wolf Cubs. We even got to see the wolves hunting a pronghorn baby (and the pronghorns mom... More

I have never lodged at the "buffalo ranch" in Lamar Valley but i support the Yellowstone Association which works hand in hand with the Institute for education programs and materials. And I am grateful the institute's naturalists do not mind general public hanging onto their words or gravitating towards where there have setup their scopes for the wolves they track... More
