Mud Volcano was one of my favorite stops at Yellowstone. The thermal features are different than those in the OF area. Watch out for the bison that hang out near the boardwalk. If parking lot is full, come back later in the day -- you...More

Mud Volcano is one of the most unique sights in all of the park. The area absolutely stinks of sulfur. I actually appreciate the smell because to me sulfur is the smell of raw volcanism. And no other area or basin seems to smell as...More

We were on our way to the Canyon area and stopped briefly to view a couple of springs. The mud volcano is certainly different to anything else we saw in the park, but I wouldn't go out of the way to see. There is a...More

The first afternoon we spent at Yellowstone we spent time touring the geysers and we came across this one among many others. There's something magical standing here watching bubbling mud which makes you realise you're standing in the centre of a super volcano

We loved the mud volcano, Dragon's Mouth Springs, and fumaroles in this area. I loved to see my kids' reactions to the sulfur smell. Amazing to see these sites!

Mud Volcano area is not as exciting and colorful as other areas of Yellowstone, still it's interesting to visit there and you should not skip it.

It doesn't need to take long to see it and the dragon's mouth is very very special so when you pass this road, just stop. Dinner can wait :-)

This is a 5-star because it isn’t as crowded as the big attractions, yet it has variety in mud geysers, ponds, lakes – and even a “Dragon’s Mouth Spring” and “Black Dragon’s Cauldron”. You definitely get the "rotten egg" smell throughout. Go up the hillside...More

Because of the Winter snow fall, the geysers will be full, more water features. However we have been there in the early Spring and the weather can get cold and snowy. West Yellowstone is a great little town to stay and hang... More
