This is probably my favorite of the geyser basins - in fact the Grand Prismatic was my main reason for coming to Yellowstone. There is some great stuff here! Parking can be a struggle, but it's worth it. We had to park a little ways...More

Interesting geysers here where the steaming water flows into the river below. This is also where the Grand Prismatic Spring is. Can be a busy place, but worth the stop.

This area offered many outstanding sights while visiting the park. Well worth adding to your list of sights to see.

This is amongst other geysers and the grand prismatic spring. The colours are truly amazing and the patterns they make are so unique. Beyond words. You will end up spending more time deleting your photos than taking them.

Depending on what you want to see, I found the Midway Geyser Basin to be my favorite. It has the Grand Prismatic Spring which is a must to see and several others features like bubbling mud pots.

Really enjoyed my visit here. It was cool to see the grand prismatic spring up close. For birds eye view of the spring take the prismatic spring look out trail at the fairy falls trail head.

Park at Fairy Falls Trail parking lot, take the 3/4 mile hike: it is a mild grade - on rough cinder/gravel - to the new overlook. It is not a hard hike but if you have any breathing problems it might be more taxing due...More
