This was a beautiful and quite easy (flat) hike. I was afraid we'd see a bear because of all the signs advising about bear sightings, but we didn't. We did see fresh bear scat though!! Anyway, this was beautiful. They do a ranger led hike...More

Ranger lead-hike was at 4pm (daily). This was great. Moved at a decent pace, taught us a ton & kids enjoyed it. Hike offers different terrain, 2 different forests, lake views, sand, and best of all - MARMOTS! Yellow Bellied Marmots typically sun on the...More

A fairly flat and easy trail leads you to Yellowstone Lake. Storm Point is a good name as points of the trail were horrifically windy when we visited. Would not take the trail again, but did enjoy the bison that were near the trail.

This hike was a great easy hike. Children would be great on it. To make it even shorter, you can walk to the Lake and back. My husband and I enjoyed it after a few other strenuous hikes. Nice lake view.

I love to walk, and this trail is just a few miles long, just long enough to 'get the kinks' out. It is basically a loop to Stormy Point and back. I think one of the most interesting things is walking through the downed lodgepole...More

We took this hike early morning and while very pleasant, there was very little to see. The views of the lake are nice, but not really any different than anywhere else. We did not see any wildlife on our walk which was a disappointment. The...More

We did a ranger lead tour and whilst having some reservations about this found it very interesting and informative. It took about 2 hours and included a range of information that most people would not access to. Take water and mosquito repellant.

We had a pleasant hike with the litlle one in the backpack. Is a flat walk with nice variation, from small lake with grassy trail through a forest to the shore of Yellowstone Lake and back through to the forest in a loop!

Out of the 24 short hikes up to 10 kilometers long on the park service's sampler, this is my wife's favorite. While the trail to a rocky peninsula jutting out into Yellowstone lake is short, it serves as a jumping off point for strolling along...More

After doing hikes all over the park - Storm Point would be one at the top of my list upon return. Quick, easy, and the views of the lake are outstandingly beautiful.
