Views of the Sierra that you'd never see otherwise, but the road is twisty and, in many places, there are no guard rails.

We left the park on the pass. It takes an hour or so to get from the valley floor up to the summit 9000+ feet. The roads are good all the way in summer and there are plenty of view points along the way. About...More

Leaving Yosemite Valley we took the Tioga Road exit (Highway 120) on our way to visit Bishop, CA. My husband and I have traveled this route several time through the years. It's always a beautiful drive but this year it was "extra" spectacular. Along the...More

We drove the pass road and were so impressed with what we saw we went back again a second day on the same road. A forest ranger recommended the Mobil Gas Station as a place to eat and boy was he right! This gas station...More

Wonderful route across Sierra Nevada when opened in summer and fall, but do not book hotels on other side until you are there, it may not be accessible...

I have been thinking about going to the Yosemite through this pass and I am sure glad I finally pulled a trigger. I drove myself and it was painful not able to fully enjoy amazingly beautiful scenery. Tenaya Lake was absolutely beautiful.

Had planned to drive out and around the park on the way to Tahoe. The Tioga pass opened 2 weeks ago, so we took it. The views were amazing - trees, meadows, lakes. So great! The road was in perfect condition. Stop along the way...More

If you are driving into Yosemite from the east, you must experience Tioga Pass! The views are amazing. It's amazing to see Half Dome from the north east while you are miles away.

This drive in from the east gate exceeded every expectation we had. Having left the Bryce Canyon 12 hours earlier in very hot summer temperature we found it unbelievable we could get out of the RV and throw ice around to each other. Very well...More

If you have just one day for Yosemite Park, I recommend to visit this place. It is not crowded like in Yosemite Valley. You stop every 5 minutes to enjoy God's creation! It is absolutely wonderful! Check if road open before the journey.

likely it will still be open at that time...all depends on the weather..the pass is at higher elevations so I would watch the weather channel a few days before going on the trip just to be on the safe side

Hi again I think it's better to have a conversation on the Yosemite forum. This seldom viewed Q&A feature is not the best option. Please post a question there and share all the information about your visit. For example... More
