We were so glad it did, the scenery was amazing, and compared to Yosemite our destination it was relatively quiet (that was in May so out of season)

we had planned our holiday nearly a year ago knowing that the Tioga pass may not be open when we visited. We were driving into Yosemite from South Lake Tahoe and the pass opened 2 days before we drove down so we were lucky enough...More

Not worth the trip. Lots of mountain curves and trees, but no a lot of great views. Better to drive to Glacier Point.

Lucky us! Tioga Pass opened the day before our departure from Yosemite National Park, and boy, is it gorgeous! Lots of water features, snowy (in mid-May) landscapes, and breathtaking vistas.

Drove out of the Park over Tioga Pass. A wonder place with fantastic views down into the valley and across to 'Half Dome'. Lots of beautiful places to stop and walk and a very fine lake to visit. Highly recommended.

This is a drive well worth taking, even if one doesn't need to get to the Owens Valley. There are enough interesting sights to see along the road, like Olmsted Point, Tenaya Lake, and Tuolumne Meadows. There are also many trailheads and several campgrounds along...More

If you have an extra day, leave the valley and the most common trails in the Yosemite and go to the Tioga Pass, more different views, beautiful scenes, I recommend!!

In high season it is best to let Yosemite valley be, and spend your time here in the high country instead. Almost no crowds(none at all compared to the valley), a lot of interesting hikes and interesting things to see. I'm sorry that we wasted...More

likely it will still be open at that time...all depends on the weather..the pass is at higher elevations so I would watch the weather channel a few days before going on the trip just to be on the safe side

Hi Few people use this Q&A feature, so you won't get many replies here. The forum is more active, but it's for conversations. The NPS Mileage chart includes drive times from Yosemite Valley Visitor Center. It's linked to... More

Hi again I think it's better to have a conversation on the Yosemite forum. This seldom viewed Q&A feature is not the best option. Please post a question there and share all the information about your visit. For example... More
