This was one of our favorite hikes in the whole park. It is a day hike, but don't let that fool you. The granite looks steep, but it is easily climbed in good shoes. You don't need boots, but traction is a must. If you fear heights, stay away from the edges. Once on top of the dome, you have... More

While staying in Yosemite we drove out to Lembert Dome for a short 3-4 hour hike. The bottom part was through a forested trail and relatively easy going. When we reached the base of the dome, we were on bare rock and it was fairly steep hiking. Maybe about 500 ft. elevation gain. Nice views from the top and very... More

We have seen the beautiful sights in Yosemite Valley several times. On this trip, we drove to the east entrance of the park. The drive up the mountain is really interesting, the meadows are inspiring, and the rocks are amazing. It is worth the trip. Much of the information states that this side of the park is without the crowds.... More

This is a beautiful location with a nice hike and was the first place we stopped to enjoy the scenery after coming over Tioga Pass. By itself it would be a jewel, but it doesn't quite measure up to the grandeur of Yosemite Valley. We would have liked to have spent some of the time we spent here enjoying sights... More

The most awesome natural spectacle in California is the drive through Yosemite. If you are going to be above Yosemite Valley along Tioga Road, make this hike a part of the trip. Approximately 2 hours - a bit longer if you take it slow and enjoy the views for a while. Right out of the gate, you are going to... More

This is a great place to hike. Rock climbers climb the face of the mountain but most people will be abe to hike to the top on one of the few well marked trails. It is steep in places but there are plenty of fallen trunks to have a rest against. We scrambled up the last bit which was so... More

We did the Lembert Dome and Dogbone Lake as we were driving into Yosemite on the Tioga Pass Road. It took us just over 2 hours to do both and it was well worth it. The hike into Lembert Dome starts off going right up hill for a good 30-40 minutes but the switchbacks make it easier and once you... More

Good day hike with some challenges near the top. Fantastic view from the top - looking out over valleys at many peaks. Worth the climb.

We did several hikes and this one stands out. We approached this huge dome and my husband says there is no way we are getting to the top of that in 1.5 hours or whatever my book said. But you keep to the trail and suddenly you are at the point to approach the top of this huge granite, treeless... More

Take in the sunset and meadow views by climbing up. Easy walk up the main trail (I don't recommend going up the straight side unless you know what you're doing). Fun to get to the top!
